Persistent facial redness and rosacea respond well to medical light treatment, which reduces the visible vessels driving the redness and calms the overall tone of the skin. We can also advise on the triggers and skincare that make a genuine difference alongside treatment.

How treatment works
Light energy is absorbed by the blood within the small vessels that produce visible redness. The vessel heats, seals and is then absorbed naturally by the body, which reduces both the visible threadlike vessels and the general flush across the skin. We use the Regenlite pulsed dye laser and AFT pulsed light, choosing between them based on your skin and the pattern of redness.
What to expect
Sessions are short, generally fifteen to thirty minutes. A course is usually needed, with most people seeing improvement building across several sessions. Downtime is minimal, and some redness or warmth immediately afterwards is normal and settles within a day. Results develop over the following weeks as your body clears the treated vessels.
Being straightforward about rosacea
Light treatment does not cure rosacea, which is a long term condition, and we would rather say that plainly than overpromise. What it does offer is a real and visible reduction in redness. Many people maintain their results with occasional top up sessions, and combining treatment with the right skincare and an understanding of your triggers gives the best long term outcome.
Cost
Rosacea and facial redness treatment starts from £75 per session. Consultations with Dr Patel are £25, paid when you book. NHS staff receive 20% off a first treatment and 10% off treatments thereafter.

Frequently asked questions
Most people describe a light elastic band snap against the skin.
This varies with the extent of redness, and we will give you a realistic estimate at consultation.
No. Rosacea is a long term condition, and treatment reduces the visible signs rather than removing the underlying tendency.
Many people have occasional top up sessions to keep results where they want them.
Usually from the following day, taking care when removing it.
