The lasers we use
Having more than one laser means matching the machine to your hair and skin rather than working around a single device. Many people are treated with both across a course, depending on how their hair responds. A consultation and patch test come first, so we can confirm how your skin responds before any full treatment.
How a course works
Sessions are spaced around six weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles and laser only affects hairs in their active growing phase, so this spacing catches a fresh set of follicles each time. You can shave between sessions, as shaving leaves the root intact. Waxing, plucking and threading remove it, so pause these during a course. Areas can often be combined in a single visit.
Where hair reduction helps medically
Hormonal hair growth from polycystic ovary syndrome responds well to laser reduction, and we have long experience with PCOS. Where creams and tablets have offered limited relief for hirsutism, laser can give lasting improvement. Facial and body hair reduction is also an important step for many trans people, and our team provides it with care and discretion.
Cost
Hair reduction starts from £90 per session, with the price depending on the area treated. Consultations with Dr Patel are £25, paid when you book. NHS staff receive 20% off a first treatment and 10% off treatments thereafter.
