How fillers work
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally throughout your body, in your skin, joints and eyes. It holds water, which is what gives skin volume and plumpness, and levels decline as we age. Filler is a clear hyaluronic acid gel, injected in small amounts through a very fine needle. Because it mirrors something already present in the body, it settles naturally.
Our approach to consultation
Every injectable treatment starts with a proper consultation covering your medical history, what you are hoping for, and whether filler is the right way to get there. Sometimes the honest answer is that a different treatment would serve you better, or that less would achieve more than you had in mind. We will say so, because realistic expectations are a large part of why people are happy with their results.
What to expect
Results are visible immediately and continue to settle over the following days. Treatment takes around thirty minutes depending on the areas involved. Some swelling or bruising at the injection points is normal and typically settles within one or two days. Fillers last four to six months on average, and we recommend waiting until the effect has genuinely worn off before repeating.

Advanced dermal fillers start from £305, priced by product and the number of areas treated. Consultations with Dr Patel are £25, paid when you book. NHS staff receive 20% off a first treatment and 10% off treatments thereafter.
